With The Message, Juma Inniss was a crucial component in helping to make our first Youth Enrichment Day a huge success. His dedication to engaging our youth allowed more than 60 of our young people to participate in his two workshop sessions. The Message was one of the most popular of our over 30 different workshop offerings with the session reaching capacity in our preregistration period. Participants appreciated Juma’s kind, down-to-earth personality that made the youth eager to engage with him and learn from his experience.

Runnymede Public School hosted Juma Inniss, of The Message Movement, for an informative talk on Social Media & our Youth. Juma brought his high energy and expertise and was able to engage our Grade 6 students meaningfully in discussions about Social Media. Our students asked relevant and important questions, demonstrating they they were tuned in and eager to talk about how social media affects our youth today.

The Message came to Brooke to lead a media literacy workshop called "The Lyricist Lounge" to a small group of middle school scholars. From the moment the workshop started, our scholars were hooked into Juma's positive message and thoughtfully implemented curriculum. The results were astounding. Through getting our students to deeply consider the way in which music spreads negative perspectives and being conscious of the way in which they grapple with the media they consume, our students emerged from the workshop with a deeper understanding of the power they have to shift their own narratives and transmit their own messages.
